  • Q. What was your overall inspiration? How and why did you choose your colors, décor, or theme?

    A. My overall inspiration was whimsical/rustic Christmas/winter wonderland. I absolutely love the month of December, it is so magical and everyone is so happy! We wanted to create a laid back vibe that made everyone feel at home and in the mood to party! Which is why we had cascading twinkle lights strung on the ceiling, a 6ft floral chandelier over the large dance floor, and plenty of space for dancing!

Our colors were wine, hunter green, dusty blue, and gold. I wanted to make sure that it didn't scream Christmas, but still give you the feeling of Christmas, so that is why I added the dusty blue and gold to the color scheme. Each bridesmaid had a different color and style dress on based on our color scheme.
We had lanterns, greenery, and some floral decor on every table. The tables had scarves, velvet table runners, blankets, etc laid over the white table clothes to give the tablescape some texture and dimension. It looked beautiful and whimsical...very eclectic!

  • Q. How did you personalize your details for the decor, food, drinks, cakes, flowers, favors, etc.?

    A. One of the coolest things we did was put a different flavored bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes on every single table, so we around 25 cakes total. This was my dad's idea, so my mom and I (along with some of the guests we told) were pretty skeptical about the idea, but it turned out to be a huge hit! And it totally added to the table decor, as we had a different, beautiful cake stand for each cake! It also created such a social and fun environment, because if you didn't like the flavor of cake at your table, you had to go to another table and get what flavor you wanted! People loved it! So, major props to my dad on that idea!
As for the flowers, my favorite part of all of the floral arrangements that Pigmint put together for us was the 6ft hanging floral wreath that hung above the dance floor space, which was the center of our seating arrangement. It was so whimsical and beautiful with greenery, pine cones, red and white flowers, and berries! When the large sliding barn doors opened from the cocktail hour, everyone gasped when they saw it! It really brought the whole room together!
We also had a little seating area with a settee and 2 wing back chairs and a coffee table, which was great for some of our older guests to sit down and relax, as well as great spot for people to catch up and just chat!
The food from 21C was of course incredible!! We started the cocktail hour off with some amazing appetizers - candied bacon bites, shrimp and grits, and fried chicken bites. For our dinner, we did a buffet style to keep the fun and friendly vibe going (along with open seating), and we had a steak and pork chop option, along with some amazing sides! For our late night snack, we had chicken and waffles! It was amazing! With a lot of out of town guests, we wanted to show them how good southern food could be!
We also had an open bar, so that ensured that the dance floor was never empty!
We had a lot of children come, so we had a coloring table set up and we also had a candy bar that was self-serve, which the kids of course loved! It was a total hit!!
Instead of a photo booth, we had a a caricaturist come from NWA Caricatures! It was very cool and unique!

  • Q. What details truly made the wedding yours?

    A. I always said that I wanted my wedding to be a giant party and that I wanted everyone to be on the dance floor all night, and that is exactly what I got! It was perfect! We even had a HUGE conga line start and everyone jumped in! It was so awesome! Our DJ, Brock, from Brock Entertainment, was absolutely incredible! He totally helped bring the party to life and got so involved with all of the guests, he did an amazing job!
What also made our wedding day so special for us was seeing every single person there have so much and not one single person did not have a smile on their face! It was just incredible to see! The last song played was Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond, so naturally, we put my youngest sister, Caroline, on top of my brother's shoulders and we all sang to her! I have never seen her more excited in her life! It was the coolest thing! No one wanted the party to end!!
Instead of a send off where we would get send off pictures, we decided to do a huge group picture on the dance floor at the end of the night! We did this because we did not want to leave our party and wanted to stay with our guests! The picture turned out great!!

  • Q. What were the highlights of your wedding day, were there any mishaps, anything unpredictable happen?

    A. The highlights of my wedding day were of course walking down the aisle and seeing my now husband at the altar, being with with all of our best friends and family, and dancing all night!

Our day went so smoothly, but there were a few mishaps/unpredictable things that happened! The biggest being that my grandfather, who is 90, choked on a piece of steak and could not breathe! We had all just sat down to eat and some family members who are doctors ran over to give him the Heimlich, but were unable to lift him up out of his wheel chair, so Chase (the groom), ran over to him and was successfully able to give him the Heimlich and didn't even cause him to break a rib or anything! He saved his life!! It was the scariest and most incredible thing that I have ever seen! My grandfather was okay and Chase was a hero on our wedding day!
